homemade dog's food - 6 Carrot, Parsley and Bran Bones

Tasty bones with plenty of fiber to aid doggy digestion.

    Makes: 30-50
    Preparation Time: 40mins

    Ingredient List:

    ·         3 cups parsley (minced)
    ·         ¼ cup carrots (finely chopped)
    ·         2 tablespoons olive oil
    ·         2¾ cups whole wheat flour
    ·         2 tablespoons bran
    ·         2 teaspoons baking powder
    ·         ½-1 cup cold water

    Directions:

    1.      Preheat the main oven to 350°F.

    2.      Place the oven rack on the middle shelf. Lightly grease a large baking tray or sheet.

    3.      In a large bowl combine the parsley, carrots and olive oil and stir well. Next, add the dry ingredients. Add the water, a little at a time, mixing really well. The dough should be moist, rather than wet so add as much or as little water as is needed to achieve this. Knead the dough for 1-2 minutes.

    4.     Roll the dough out to ½” thickness and cut, using a cookie cutter of choice. Transfer the shapes to  the baking tray. Collect the scraps, re-roll and once again cut the shapes.

    5.     Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and have  hardened a little, bearing in mind that as they cool they will harden more.

    6.     Cool on wire baking racks and store in an airtight container.

*Quantities will depend on size and shape of cookie cutter.
